Anne Gantén

Anne Gantén served as the Executive Director, Assistant Treasurer and Assistant Secretary of Atlantic Partnership (AP). Atlantic Partnership’s mission is to raise awareness of the continuing political, economic and strategic importance of the transatlantic relationship among decision makers and citizens on both sides of the Atlantic and from across the political spectrum. Besides providing the day-to-day managerial leadership of AP’s Washington and New York programs, Anne was responsible for the conceptualizing, organizing and executing AP’s high-level events, congressional outreach, and media material.

Anne’s mandate included building upon AP’s extensive, high-level network, as well as facilitating interchange between AP’s board members, patrons and supporters. She also had responsibility for AP’s Military Leaders Program, Young Leaders Program, Global Business Leaders Program and for the development of new programs for the United States.

Prior to her work with AP, Anne was a Business Analyst and the Business Development Leadership Development Program Manager at Lockheed Martin (LM). Anne was active in the area of global market assessment and served as LM’s Competitive Focus Team leader, responsible for tracking and analyzing European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company (EADS). She also aided in the development of overarching global concepts and themes for the Corporation’s International Strategic Business Review, was heavily involved in marketing the C-130J aircraft and Littoral Combat Ship to Israel and was also instrumental in redesigning and launching the Corporation’s Doing Business Overseas Institute.

Anne also has significant start up and consulting experience helping European and US-origin blue-chip organizations based in Europe leverage EU resources for policy and contract/tender bids and coordinating the long-term marketing and communication plans and activities. Immediately prior to returning to the United States, Anne was the program manager for the Brussels-based think tank, the Security and Defence Agenda.  She now works for the Special Olympics.

Anne holds a Masters in Business Communication and Public Relations from European University, Brussels, Belgium and Bachelors in International Economics from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service. She speaks French, Spanish and has a basic understanding of Italian and Swedish.

Douglas Seay

Doug Seay serves as a senior staff member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the House of Representatives. Mr. Seay’s area of responsibility includes the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, trade, and intellectual property rights. Mr. Seay joined the Committee in May 2001.

Mr. Seay is a former Foreign Service Officer and former Deputy Director of Foreign Policy at the Heritage Foundation in Washington, D.C. Prior to joining the Committee, Mr. Seay was a member of the 2000 presidential campaign of then-governor George W. Bush, where his work focused on foreign and defense policy issues and on the presidential debates.

The Rt Honorable Lord Gilbert

GilbertThe Rt Hon Lord Gilbert has served as a Government Minister in the United Kingdom under three Prime Ministers, since entering the House of Commons in 1970. He was Financial Secretary to the Treasury (1974-75): Minister for transport (1975-76); and Minister of State for Defence (1976-79 and 1997-99).

He has been a member of a number of Select committees of the House of Commons, including the Expenditure, Defence, and Trade and Industry Committees. He was the senior opposition member of the Committee on Intelligence and Security from its creation in 1994 until April 1997. He was made a Privy Counsellor in 1978, and was elevated to the House of Lords in 1997. He serves several companies in Europe, the UK and the US as an adviser and board member.

Born in 1927, Lord Gilbert was educated at Merchant Taylor’s School and St John’s College Oxford. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in Canada, and has a PhD in International Economics and Statistics from New York University.

Lord Gilbert speaks French, German and Spanish, currently holds Private Pilot Licences for both fixed and rotary wing aircraft, and is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society.
